Shri Anurag Singh Thakur Releases Sri Shyamacharan Lahiree Mahasaya Coin

The Hon’ble Minister of State - Finance and Corporate Affairs, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur released the commemorative coin marking '125th Departure Anniversary of Sri Shyamacharan Lahiree Mahasaya' at a virtual ceremony on October 24, 2020.

In adherence to COVID guidelines, the release of commemorative coins this year predominantly takes place through virtual ceremonies. This shift to virtual platforms reflects the global efforts to ensure safety during the ongoing pandemic. 

This marks the third commemorative coin released in October and in the year 2020, minted by India Government Mint, Mumbai. The gazette notification was issued by the Ministry of Finance on August 17, 2020.

Mumbai Mint Commences Bookings for BSG Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has commenced the bookings for the ₹75  commemorative coin  issued to mark the Diamond Jubilee of the Bharat Scouts and Guides. The bookings are open from today, December 24, 2025, and it is subject to limited availability. Earlier on November 24, 2025, the Hon'ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel, released a ₹75 coin and a postal stamp to mark the occasion while inaugurating the 19th National Jamboree of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.  The ₹75 coin is available in both Proof and UNC sets, presented in a folder/blister pack. Additionally, the Proof Set is also available in an MDF box package. The Proof Set is priced at ₹6,667 and the UNC Set at ₹6,503, both offered in folder/blister packaging. The Government of India has issued numerous commemorative coins to mark significant milestones, including birth centenaries of eminent personalities, the achievements of important institutions, and events of national importance. This post is dedicated to the one hundred ₹100 coins, marking an important numismatic milestone.
